Frequently Asked Questions | Print |

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The purple liquid contains thousands of tiny fibres held in suspension inside the liquid. When installed in the tyre, it evenly coats the inside of the tube/tyre and then simply waits for a puncture! If you suffer a puncture, the liquid is drawn to the hole by air pressure, the fibres then bundle together and fill the hole and repair the puncture permanently. The process takes a few seconds, in fact you probably won't even know you had a puncture at all.

IS IT EASY TO INSTALL?

Yes! Take a look at our installation instructions by clicking here. If you are unable to install the product yourself, then don't worry, we have a network of dealers throughout the UK that can install the product for you. Just give us a call on 0800 107 6737  and we will advise you who is your local dealer. Please note that you must have Shrader valves (like the ones on car tyres) not the Presta valves (high pressure valves).

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

For the life of the tyre. It doesn't dry out or require replacing (unless you have been unlucky enough to have lots of punctures or if the tube/tyre have been badly damaged).

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Costs can found here. If you need the product to be installed for you, then we may have access to a local dealer who will provide their costs to you.

WHY SHOULD I BUY?

If you depend on your vehicle and you have, or are considering using pneumatic tyres, then installing ShieldWell™ makes perfect sense. You will have  "Peace of Mind" knowing you will not become stranded with all the anguish that comes with that. ShieldWell™ is not a miracle cure, it simply can't deal with everything such a bit of glass slicing right through the tyre, but it will deal with the vast majority of common punctures, so it really does make sense to protect your tyres!

HOW DOES  IT SEAL A HOLE?

ShieldWell™ is drawn to the area by escaping air pressure. The sealant plugs the hole and forms a permanent repair.

HOW MANY HOLES WILL IT SEAL?

Numerous holes caused by a puncturing object of up to 6mm in diameter can be sealed. The sealant will continue to work until either all of the sealant has been used (many holes) or the tyre is significantly damaged in which case the tyre/tube will need to be replaced and re-filled with sealant.

DOES IT CAUSE A CHEMICAL REACTION?

No. The sealant is chemically inert.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I SPILL SOME OF THE SEALANT?

Don't worry, you can simply wash it away with some water.

WHO USES IT?

We have many users in many different areas including contruction, heavy plant, leisure vehicles, mobility vehicles, garden and farm vehicles and many more!

CAN I SEE IT IN ACTION?

Yes. Simply click on the "videos" menu at the top of this page.

IS IT HARMFULL?

You should not swallow the liquid, so you should keep it away from children. If it is swallowed, do not induce vomiting, take the bottle with you to the doctor and seek medical advice.

You should avoid contact with your eyes, if some of the liquid does splash into your eyes, rince with plenty of cold water and seek medical help.

The sealant may cause mild irritation to sensitive skin, if this is the case simply rinse in plenty of cold water.
